New pictures and booked a job

Lauren will be filming a pilot episode on a show as a third grade class member on Monday. Auditions have increased and she is having an averge of 2-3 a week for the past couple of weeks. She has booked two jobs.

We had new head shots taken. Will post for you all. Micah went on his first audition. He did nothing and refused to talk. Maybe not this thing (smile).

We have decided to stay until March 30th and then we will go home for awhile.

Disneyland day

Well today I managed Disneyland with Micah, Lauren and a friend. My mom bailed but we had fun! What a nice day. Short lines, not 80 degrees. While we were at Disneyland, Lauren got two more auditions for two student films next week. One Micah also gets to audition with her. That should be fun.

They submitted her for a Nabisco commericial. Yet to get anything with pay but we have been told that you must have 2-3 National Commercials or student films before anyone takes you seriously.

I heard Dakota Fanning was discovered after her tide commericial.

Happy Valentine's day

We did not do much today. Fun dance at Oakwood and Mylie Cyrus (AKA Hannah Montana's) little sister was there. All the kids were excited about that.

Micah and Lauren have been hanging out with a couple of cool kids. They are sisters and the little one just booked the AT&T commericial with the monkey. Here is the link.

They are here from Fl with their mom also. I am amazed at how many people are doing this. We must all be crazy.

Studio time/video

Well Lauren, Micah, Ahna and I went to a recording studio yesterday. We met with a professional song writer who had Lauren sing and they interviewed her for song lyrics. It will take two weeks to write a song. They will then give her a track with the writer singing and then one with the main vocals taken out.

Lauren will then work 3-4 days a week with a voice coach to get the song down. She will then return to the recording studio and cut the demo. This will be used for auditions and to submit to Disney and other networks looking for actors who sing.

Micah played with with the writers son and got to watch star wars on a huge TV and played with the sound board. I was a little nervous as they let Micah move all the buttons on the $100,000 sound board. My luck he would break something. He thought it was really cool.

Lauren has been snapping pictures all over town and wants to put together a slide show of everything we are doing. We are in the heart of Burbank. Warner Brother Buildings surround us. It is kinda cool.

The strike ended today so we are hoping the auditions will increase. Lauren's UCLA movie was postponed for a couple of weeks sooo we are waiting again.

Exciting projects

Well the writers strike was settled today so there were a couple new projects that Lauren and Micah were submitted for.

They are making a full length movie of Romona and are looking for 9-10 year old girls with brown hair. Lauren was submitted. Will eagerly wait to see if she gets an audition. They typically will not take kids with NOTHING LA on their resume but who knows.

Micah was submitted for Marley and Me based on the book staring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. Wanted 4-5 year old with Blue eyes. Micah is only three so again.. who knows.

I am just excited to see some actual projects that would work opening up.

The Family--Lauren got a part

Hi all. Well Lauren had two call backs but finally landed her first big role (no pay --UCLA student film). It is called The Family and is a short film but her first big experience. She gets to put it on her REEL. First Rehersal is Monday night.

Working on a new song

Lauren's manager works with various kids in the music industry. Now that many kids act and sing (i.e. Hannah Montana) they want kids that can do both. So since Lauren has been singing for about one year, we are off on Tuesday to work with a song writer. She will write an orginial song for Lauren. She will then get to go into the Studio and record it. The song will eventually go out with her picture to Disney and those companies when they are looking for kids Lauren's age.

The process will take about 2-4 weeks to come up with Lauren's song. Will see if I can post it when it is done.

Lauren's audition

Went for the second call back for the UCLA movie. They liked Lauren and will have her back this week with the family that she will be acting with to see what chemistry there is on set.

Met with Lauren's manager/agent today to discuss options. She wants to represent Micah. Not sure about that. They would like to submit him for some print.

Still really slow for auditions. The strike has really impacted things in Hollywood.

New News

Hi Everyone-- not much to report this weekend. Lauren signed with a new Agent. She thinks that once the strike is settled that Lauren will get some work. She really likes her look. Right now they are going to focus on print stuff so they are submitting for gap, guess, old navy etc.

Her New Agent is JD at Miramar Talent Agency and her Management company is Inspirememanagement. The manager is going to have a song written for Lauren so she will have her own song to perform at auditions.

Updates and stuff

So Lauren's updates first. She had her audition for the UCLA film and received a callback. She will go in on Monday and see how she looks with the mom and dad that were selected.

She also will be in a pop music video set in the 1930's circus.

She was recently submitted for a large national clothing Fall Campaign. Will let you know how that goes.

She is having fun and learning a lot. She has been working with Mark Anton (music instruction). She has sung with Julie Andrews and a whole bunch of great performers. Lauren likes him a lot and he is teaching her a lot.

I have been doing little work which I was supposed to accomplish while down here. I did fly to Las Vegas to meet up with my hubby. For those of you who do not know, she is in the process of selling his business and it is being bought by a company that is buying up other large scale high ended vacation/destination groups and Chris has been hired to head it up so we are selling his business and getting a nice new job with benefits and increased salary.

He is very excited. So I went to Las Vegas for the lauch party. They rented out the House of Blues for the soft launch party. It was a lot of fun. I actually drank orange vodka and sodas and had a hangover. Not like me at all.

Back in LA for a couple of weeks and then Lauren and I are heading home for the Fur Rondy voice competition. Then back to LA for three more weeks.

With the strike, things are slow so we will not stay after March. However, we may come back down this Summer as things present themselves.
